Tips for Routine Maintenance Checks:
- Frequently inspect to see that cutting edges are aligned properly to avoid uneven wear and poor scraping performance.
- To protect the structural integrity of your plow, make sure the plow frame isn't exposed and there is no rubbing on the moldboard.
- Check plow shoes and replace when worn at or below 1/4-inch thick.
- Don't forget to inspect bolts for any that may be missing, loose or corroded. After the first 10 hours of operation, all nuts should be checked with a torque wrench to maintain proper specification.
